Malaikat Setttaaaannnnn!!!

I always have been a big fan of Tom Hanks and Ron Howard. I love their collaboration on Apollo 13, but sadly my admiration fade a little bit when I saw Da Vinci Code. It really a total abomination and rape towards the novel, and that certain feeling arise again when I heard that the second franchise of the symbolist Robert Langdon adventure, Angels and Demons was going to be released. Once again Ron Howard seats on the director chair and Tom Hanks also comes back to play the Langdon character.

So with concern inside my heart that I’m walking through another mediocre work and lousy interpretation of the book which will make my high regard towards them even fader, I went to see the Angels and Demons movie. Unlike it first movie that carried heavier and more controversial subject, the second installment focus on the biggest and holiest event for the Vatican Church, the coronation of a new pope. And luckily looks like Ron Howard already learned a lot from all the mistake and flaw that make the first installment such a boring movie.

Angels and Demons, grab your attention strongly right from the start and it won’t let you go until the final conclusion. It gave you a glimpse of the Vatican Church government protocol and politic, this time without all the controversial religious artifacts interpretation that shakes the faith of the believers. Cinematography is top class, the soundtrack makes sure you always on the edge of your seat, biting your nail anxiously, and the puzzle and action portion are adequate. And the casting of Ewan McGregor as the pope trusted man also gave this movie a plus point in acting department.

Overall, Angels and Demons is a very entertaining thriller movie with brain, that worth your money and time. The dialog, the plot, the twist, all is very straightforward and easy to follow. This is not a rocket science stuff that makes your forehead frown because of the bamboozle feeling you’ll get from the complexity and segmented heavy subject of the movie, like the first installment. Go watch it!
